Day 4 - US

Now, 101 turns inland towards the famous Californian wine country - the scenery changes as well to rolling dry hills and valleys - orchards and vineyards

Pity, I am not a wine drinker – had free wine tasting every few km!

Just to give you an idea regarding the dramatic change in temp in semi arid/desert environments – when I left in the morning (around 8 am) it was 5C a few hours later in the valley the temp rocketed to 28C!

There weren’t too many picture taking opportunities on this leg and I stopped earlier than usual as I wanted to do some bank work and not take on the evening San Francisco traffic jam

  1. Given the current weather while writing this particular comment on the other side of the world - wouldn't mind taking a taste or two of Californian red - or white for that matter.... :-D The scenery with the wineyards is quite similar to the ones in France. Aaa... Those were the days... :-)
